From accounting and AP operations to business analytics and systems improvement
My journey combines hands-on finance operations, audit exposure, P2P process ownership, system migration support, automation, stakeholder collaboration and formal business analytics education in Ireland.
Accounting & Audit Foundation
My professional journey began as an apprentice under the supervision of a Chartered Accountant. This gave me early exposure to stock audits, bank audits, return filing, bulk TDS filing for banks, documentation, record maintenance and drafting replies to notices. This foundation helped me understand financial accuracy, compliance, controls, deadlines and professional communication.
Accounts Payable & P2P Operations
I then joined Genpact as an Accounts Payable Process Associate within the Procure-to-Pay domain. I worked on core AP activities including invoice processing, PO matching, vendor queries, payment follow-ups, rejected payments, unpaid balances, debit balances and day-to-day supplier/client issue resolution across high-volume finance operations.
Promotion to Process Developer
After approximately 1.5 years, I was promoted to Process Developer. My role expanded into query resolution, managing key issues through the P2P shared mailbox, handling direct debit activities, clearing old unpaid vouchers, resolving payment discrepancies and coordinating with vendors, clients and internal teams to keep AP workflows accurate and controlled.
ServiceNow Migration & UAT Support
A key turning point came when the legacy ProFlow system was replaced by ServiceNow. I supported the IT team during integration, migration, data validation and UAT. I helped identify defects, test finance workflows, support post-implementation queries and train a team of 15 users, including new joiners completing their LTO certifications.
Salesforce CORA Implementation
Later, Salesforce CORA was introduced to replace the P2P shared mailbox. I worked as a bridge between Finance and IT, helping convert business requirements into technical requirements, supporting integration and migration activities, assisting with UAT and training the team after go-live. This strengthened my skills in requirements gathering, process mapping, testing, documentation and change management.
Business Analysis & Automation
Over time, my role naturally evolved towards business analysis. I started identifying recurring process issues, improving workflows, supporting automation and building Excel-based dashboards and reporting tools. These improvements reduced manual effort, improved reporting accuracy and helped teams make faster and more reliable operational decisions.
Business Analytics in Ireland
After gaining practical experience in finance operations, systems and process improvement, I moved to Ireland to pursue an MSc in Business Analytics at Dublin Business School. My goal was to support my hands-on experience with formal academic knowledge, professional credentials and stronger skills in analytics, business intelligence, statistics, project management, decision support and AI-driven solutions.
Current Career Direction
I am now focused on permanent opportunities in Ireland across Business Analysis, Finance Analytics, FP&A, P2P/AP Operations, Data & Reporting and Systems Analysis roles. My aim is to use my combined experience in finance operations, stakeholder management, systems improvement and analytics to deliver measurable business value.
